A. MESUT YILMAZ COLLECTION
Our former Prime Minister Ahmet Mesut Yılmaz was born on 6 November 1947 in Istanbul. He completed his secondary education, which started at Austrian High School, at Istanbul High School. Mr. Yılmaz graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Finance and Economics. Between 1972-1974, he completed his master's degree at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne, Germany. He donated his unique and out-of-print rich resources, which he added to his collection during his prime ministry, to our library. He passed away on October 30, 2020. A. Mesut Yılmaz's valuable collection is located in the carefully separated section of our library.
N. BERNA YILMAZ COLLECTIONS
She was born on 11 July 1953 in Adana. She graduated from Nilüfer Hatun Primary School, Şişli Terakki High School, Robert College-Boğaziçi University.
During her husband Mesut YILMAZ's years as the Ministry of State, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Ministry and Deputy Prime Minister (1983-2002), she continued her social activities without interruption.
Berna YILMAZ is the founder of the "Accessible Education Foundation", which supports the demands of thousands of disabled people and their families in Turkey, such as wheelchairs, medicine, rent, supplies and scholarships, and is still the chairman of the Foundation. Mrs. Yılmaz is also the chairman of the board of trustees of Istanbul Kent University. N. Berna Yılmaz's valuable collection is located in the carefully separated section of our library.
M. YAVUZ YILMAZ COLLECTIONS
M. Yavuz Yılmaz (1979-2017), the founder of Istanbul Kent University, is the son of N. Berna Yılmaz and A. Mesut Yılmaz. M. Yavuz Yılmaz studied at George Washington University in the United States. The valuable collection of M. Yavuz Yılmaz, who made great contributions to our university, is located in the carefully reserved section of our library.
